Title

ColdFusion perspective doesn't appear when installed as a plug-in to EclipseProducts affected

Issue

After you remove and reinstall the plug-in configuration of ColdFusion Builder, the ColdFusion perspective doesn't appear. You reinstalled the plug-in into a different directory than the initial install directory.

Solution

Eclipse 3.4.2

Install a fresh copy of Eclipse and copy the cfbuilder.link file from the [Eclipse_home]\dropins folder to the newly installed [New Eclipse_home]\dropins folder.

Eclipse 3.5.2

  1. Remove the cfbuilder.link file from the [Eclipse home]\dropins folder and back it up to another location.
  2. Start Eclipse to clear the Eclipse cache.
  3. Put the cfbuilder.link file back into the dropins folder and start Eclipse.

Note: To use the same eclipse for both Eclipse 3.4.2 and 3.5.1, reinstall the ColdFusion Builder plug-ins into the same path as in the initial installation.

Additional information

This issue can also occur when removing the Beta builds and installing the final release build on the same Eclipse installation. Using a fresh Eclipse installation or applying the workarounds above resolves the issue.
