Flash Video buttons may be cut off or resized
Issue
When viewing a Flash Video object created with Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 in a browser, control buttons in the Flash Video object may be cut off or resized. Not all buttons may be visible.
Reason
This can occur if the FLV source file is smaller than the minimum required width for the skin SWF.
Each Skin listed in the Property Inspector for a Flash Video has a stated minimum width (in pixels) after the name of the skin. However, it is possible to enter a width for the actual FLV that is less than that value. Dreamweaver will not display any warning if the width is smaller than the skin's minimum.
In that situation the Flash Video object will reposition the control buttons so that some of them are visible (usually play and stop). The FLV itself will scale to match the Width and Height entered in the Dreamweaver Property Inspector and maintain its aspect ratio. However, the video control buttons may be cut off, and it is possible for the entire control button section to be illegible.
Solution
Dreamweaver 8 does not have any automatic mechanism for checking or repairing this situation. The Flash Video object will have to be resized manually, or reset to its original size using the Reset button in the Property Inspector.
