Customizing the "Need help?" link on the Breeze Licensed server

Issue

I would like to change the default "Need help?" link in Breeze Licensed to redirect to our internal helpdesk.

Reason

This allows you to service your internal customers who cannot log into Breeze.

Solution

The "Need help?" link refers to an HTML file installed on the server. The file contains a refresh link that can be easily changed.

  1. Browse to the following location, where "C" is the root drive on the server where you have installed Breeze:

    C:\breeze\appserv\web\common\help\go
  2. Make a back-up of the three HTML files in this directory. The names of the files are:
    • login_ts.html
    • support_index.html
    • support.html
  3. Open login_ts.html in NotePad and locate the following text:

     <META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0;

    URL=http://www.macromedia.com/go/breeze_login_help_en">
  4. Change the URL value to redirect to the new location, for example:

     <META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="0;

    URL=http://helpdesk">
  5. Save and close the file.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 for the files support_index.html and support.html.

That's it! Test your work. You do not need to restart the Breeze services but may need to refresh your browser in order to make sure you're not viewing cached content.

Note: If you run into any problems, you can always revert back to the back-up copies of these three files. Also, whenever you upgrade the Breeze server, your changes to these files will be lost and you will need to make the changes again or replace the new files with a back-up of your previously modified files.

Watch the demonstration below for the steps to customize the "Need help?" link on the Breeze Licensed server.
