Audio in inserted SWF plays a slide early in Breeze Presenter

Issue

The audio on any inserted SWF will begin to play on the slide that precedes the inserted SWF.

Reason

This happens because Breeze Presenter begins to preload the following slides in order to improve the playback performance of the presentation.

Solution

To avoid this issue, choose one of the following options:

  • Remove the audio from the SWF and add it to the slide.

To add audio to a slide:

    1. Open the PowerPoint Presentation.
    2. Select Breeze > Import Audio.
    3. Select the slide you wish to add audio to.
    4. Click the Browse button and browse to the audio and select it.
    5. Click OK.
  • Edit the FLA file and add a Stop() action to Frame 1 on the layer that contains the audio. Set the SWF to be 'Controlled by the presentation playbar' in Breeze Presenter.

You will need to do the following to correct the issue:

    1. Open the source of the SWF (the FLA file).
    2. Remove any audio on Frame 1.
    3. Set Frame 1 of the file that contains the audio toStop();.
    4. Add the audio track to Frame 2.
    5. Republish the SWF.
    6. Open the presentation in PowerPoint.
    7. Select Breeze > Insert Flash...
    8. Browse to and select the SWF file.
    9. Select Breeze > Presentation Settings...
    10. Select Flash Files.
    11. Select Controlled by presentation playbar.

Note: If you do not want to set the option for the SWF to be 'Controlled by presentation playbar', you must insert some other interactive element on the SWF that will allow it to start playing again.
  • Add a silent audio clip to the slide that precedes the slide that contains the SWF.

    1. Open the PowerPoint Presentation.
    2. Select Breeze > Import Audio.
    3. Select the slide you wish to add audio to.
    4. Click the Browse button and browse to and select the silent audio track.
    5. Click OK.
