Installing Photoshop Elements 8.0 on Windows

This article describes the procedure of installing Photoshop Elements 8.0 on windows. 

  1. Insert the Photoshop Elements DVD into the disk drive.
  2. Autoplay starts automatically. If Autoplay doesn't start, navigate to  the DVD drive and doubleclick on Autoplay.exe.
  3. Confirm which language you wish to run the installer in. By default it is the OS language. Note, that your selection only reflects the language of the Installation dialog boxes. Photoshop Elements runs in the language you purchased.
  4. Select 'Install Adobe Photoshop Elements 8'.
  5. The InstallShield Wizard for Photoshop Elements 8 opens and you need to hit 'Next' to proceed.
  6. If you already have a previous version of Photoshop Elements installed, you are notified that you can keep these versions on your computer if you wish. Click Yes to continue with the installation.
  7. The License Agreement window opens. Click Accept to agree to the terms and conditions.
  8. The Customer Information dialog box opens. Enter a username and select the country you reside in. 
    You can choose to install the product in a 30 day trial mode, or, if you purchased the software and have a serial number, enter it now.
  9.  Accept the default installation location, or hit 'Change' to select a new location.
  10. You will see a notification that Adobe Photoshop Elements may contact the Adobe servers over the Internet to activate the software. Click 'Install'.
  11. When the installation completes, click 'Finish'.
  12. From the Windows Start button, select Programs>Photoshop Elements 8 to launch the application, or double-click the Photoshop Elements 8 shortcut on your Desktop.
  13. For US customers only: The Welcome screen prompts you to create an Adobe ID, which creates a complimentary account for photoshop.com. If you already have an Adobe ID, click on the Sign In tab and enter your login name and password.
