 What is Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro?

Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro is the complete Web communications solution that enables live online meetings, virtual classes, and group collaboration, allowing organizations to effectively share a wide range of content, including Microsoft PowerPoint slides, live and recorded video, Adobe Flash content, live screen-sharing, application sharing, audio, and multiuser text chat.  When and how should I expect to receive my upgrade?

Current customers will receive an e-mail coupon for your Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 from adobelicensing@adobe.com. Adobe will begin sending these messages the week of November 3rd, 2009. Please disable any e-mail blockers you may have that might delay or delete the coupon e-mails. Use the coupon number in the e-mail to redeem a download from the Adobe Licensing Web Site (LWS). Instructions to download the media from LWS at http://licensing.adobe.com/ are in the e-mail.

 Do I need to download a new license file?

Yes, you should always download and apply the latest license file after each upgrade or install.  You can find instructions on how to download and apply your license here.

 If I'm using Connect 6, do I need to upgrade to Connect 7 first?

Yes, the supported upgrade path from Connect 6 is to first upgrade to Connect Pro 7, and then upgrade to Connect Pro 7.5. Follow the migration and installation guides for each version-to-version upgrade throughout the process.

 Where can I go for upgrade documentation?

 What if I don't remember my current serial number?

You may continue to use your existing Connect Pro 7 or 6 serial number with Connect Pro 7.5. You are not required to enter your serial number during the upgrade; the installer will automatically detect and use your existing valid license key.

Obtain your Connect Pro serial number by logging into your server administrative console at http://localhost:8510/console. If you have not installed Acrobat Connect Pro 7 or 6, or need assistance obtaining your Acrobat Connect Pro serial number, see the Adobe World Wide Customer Care page at www.adobe.com/support/contact/.

 How do I get Universal Voice?

To run Universal Voice, customers will need to deploy and run Flash Media Gateway (FMG) and configure it to access a SIP gateway.  The installer for FMG is contained with the 7.5 installer and requires no additional license or purchase to run.  Detailed installation and configuration instructions are available in the 7.5 installation and configuration guide available from the Connect Pro documentation site.

 Who is eligible for the upgrade?

Customers with active Platinum Maintenance and Support for licensed Acrobat Connect Pro as of November 3, 2009 qualify for an automatic upgrade license to Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5. Or, customer that renew Platinum Maintenance and Support and request the upgrade upon renewal.

 Who do I contact if I don't receive my upgrade?

  Will my custom applications that were created using XML APIs continue to work in Connect Pro 7.5?

Few updates have been made to the XML APIs. Always test and verify that the XML API calls in your custom applications are compatible with the new version of your Connect Server. Search the product knowledgebase of TechNotes on the Connect Support page at www.adobe.com/support/connect/ for API-specific information, and review the Using Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Web Services documentation.
