Blank installer alert displays when installing Creative Suite CS4, and installation won't continue on Mac OS 10.4.11Products affected

Issue

When installing a Creative Suite CS4, e.g., Production Premium or Design Premium CS4, a blank installer alert window displays and the installation freezes on Mac OS 10.4.11.

Reason

You don't meet the minimum system requirements for installing the Creative Suite CS4, and you have installed Safari 4.0.

Solution

Update your Mac to meet the system requirements for the Creative Suite CS4, for example make sure you have 2GB of RAM when installing Production Premium CS4.

Additional Information

The installer alert window displays a warning that minimum system requirements are not met, e.g.,you don't have sufficient RAM to install the CS4 Suite. A 'Quit' or 'Continue' button in the alert window allows you to cancel the installation, or to select the point products of the Creative Suite which have lower system requirements.

The alert window is browser based, and when Safari 4.0 is installed on OS 10.4.11 the alert is blank. The 'Quit' or 'Continue' buttons are not visible, thus the installation appears to have frozen.

The alert window displays correctly when Safari 3.2.1 is installed.

You need to ensure that your Mac meets the minimum system requirements to avoid an installer alert and complete the installation successfully.
