A. Acrobat.com is a suite of hosted services designed to enable communication and collaboration. Acrobat.com includes the following services:

• Adobe Buzzword, a collaborative online word processor that creates print-perfect documents that can easily be co-authored and shared for comment and review.
• Adobe ConnectNow, a personal web conferencing service designed with small group collaboration in mind. It includes desktop sharing, annotation, file sharing, and integrated chat

 Q. How much does Acrobat.com cost?
A. Acrobat.com offers both free and premium subscriptions. The free subscription includes a three-person ConnectNow meeting room, five PDF conversions, file sharing and storage with 5 GB of storage, and online word processing with Buzzword. If you need a larger meeting room or more PDF file-conversion ability, consider upgrading to a premium subscription.

 Q. I forgot my password—how do I reset it?
A. You can reset your password by clicking "Forgot your password?" on the sign-in page at http://www.acrobat.com/.

 Q. Having trouble verifying your e-mail address or resetting your password?
A. During the e-mail verification and password reset process, messages are sent to your e-mail address. Sometimes your e-mail service or client marks these messages as spam—so check your junk mail folder. If you are still having problems, contact support.

A. Acrobat.com supports conversion of the following file formats to PDF:

 Q. How can I convert file formats not directly supported for PDF conversion by Acrobat.com?
A. You can’t convert file formats such as Microsoft Office 2007 (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX) directly to PDF in Acrobat.com. To convert them, first save the files in Microsoft Office 2003 format and then convert them to PDF in Acrobat.com. For other file formats, you can use Adobe Acrobat from your desktop to convert files to PDF.

 Q. How do I convert files to PDF after using up the five free PDF conversions?
A. If you need more Adobe PDF conversions, you can upgrade to an Acrobat.com premium subscription.

 Q. Is there a limit to how big a file I can convert to PDF?
A. Yes. There is a 100-MB per file limit. 

Sharing files on Acrobat.com

 Q. How do I share documents?
A. First, upload your document to Acrobat.com. Then enter the e-mail addresses of your recipients and create an optional message. Recipients will receive an e-mail with a link they can click to view or download the document.

 Q. Can I link to my documents on Acrobat.com?
A. Yes. Each document you upload to your Acrobat.com account is assigned a unique website address. So, you can link to your documents or embed rich previews on your own website, blog, or wiki.

 Q. Does the recipient of a document have to sign up for Acrobat.com?
A. For open access documents, recipients do not need an Acrobat.com account. For restricted access documents, recipients must sign up for a free Acrobat.com account to access the document. For each document, you decide how restrictive you want to be.

 Q. How much content can I share and store on Acrobat.com?
A. Acrobat.com provides you with 5 GB of storage space.

 Q. Are there any restrictions on the types of files I can upload and share?
A. You cannot upload and share the following file types:

• Audio formats (MP3, AAC, OGG)

 Q. How many people can attend my meeting?
A. The number of people that can attend your meeting depends on whether you are a free or a premium subscriber:

• Free subscriber: 3 people, including yourself.
• Premium basic subscriber: 5 people, including yourself.
• Premium plus subscriber: 20 people, including yourself.

 Q. Does a meeting guest have to sign up for an account to attend a meeting?
A. No, meeting attendees do not need to sign up for an account. Attendees can attend your meeting by signing in as a guest.

 Q. Does a meeting attendee have to download any software to attend my meeting?
A. No. Meeting attendees don’t have to download any software if they have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. (Flash is installed in most browsers worldwide.) If attendees would like to share their screen, they are prompted to install the ConnectNow Add-in.

 Q. How do I customize my meeting room URL?
A. You can change your meeting room URL, for example, if you want the URL to include your name or a project name. While logged in to your meeting room, select Help > Manage My Account. Next to Meeting URL, click Change.

Buzzword

 Q. What file formats does Buzzword support?
A. Buzzword can import Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX, and Word 2003 XML), Open Document Format (ODT), Rich Text Format (RTF), and text (TXT) files.  Buzzword can export all those file formats as well as PDF and HTML.

 Q. How do I send a Buzzword document to someone else?
A. Rather than sending the file, share a link to the document. To share a link, click the Share button at the bottom of the window. Then follow the steps for sending an e-mail and linking to the document. If you are sharing the document with people who are not yet Buzzword users, they can sign up for a Buzzword account.
 
 Q. Does the recipient of a Buzzword document have to sign up for Acrobat.com?
A. No. If you set the access level of your document to open access, anyone with the document's address (URL) can access your document. Click the Share button and select Share With A Wider Audience.

 Q. Can I check spelling in different languages?
A. Adobe Buzzword is currently available in English, French, and German. Buzzword does support spelling check for 18 different languages, limited to the latin-1 character set. Danish, Dutch, English (CN), English (UK), English (US), Finnish, French (France), French (Canada), German, German (Reformed), German (Swiss), German (Swiss Reformed), Italian, Norwegian (Bokmal), Norwegian (Nynorsk), Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Spanish, Swedish.

 Q. Why do some documents I imported into Buzzword look different from the original?
A. Buzzword maintains document integrity as much as possible. However, some imported documents have features and fonts that Buzzword does not support. In some cases, it is not possible to maintain complete document integrity.

 Q. What is the file size limit for import?
A. You can import files up to 10 MB.

 Q. What graphic formats can I use in Buzzword?
A. You can insert GIF, JPEG, and PNG images.

 Q. What is the file storage limit for Buzzword?
A. There is no storage limit for Buzzword documents.

 Q. What is the size limit for inserting a graphic?
A. You can insert images up to 4 MB, with a maximum of 2880 x 2880 pixels.

 Q. Why don't Buzzword's files go into the Acrobat.com Organizer?
A. Acrobat.com is in beta. A number of integration projects are underway, with Organizer integration being a top priority.

 Q. Is there an offline version of Buzzword?
A. Not yet. But work is underway on an AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) version. This AIR version will give you access to Buzzword when you are not connected to the Internet.

Developer APIs

 Q. Are APIs available for Acrobat.com?
A. Yes. Acrobat.com provides APIs for document service functions such as uploading documents, browsing a repository, and sharing documents. The Acrobat.com APIs allow you to quickly leverage document sharing capabilities in a mashup or as the basis for a new application.

Adobe also offers Adobe Flash Collaboration Service, a platform as a service (APIs plus SDK) that allows Flex developers to add real-time social capabilities. Among these are chat, webcam, VoIP, and whiteboards to Rich Internet Applications (RIAs).
