Unable to apply styles and formatting to page in Contribute

Issue

Style options, including the Bold and Italic buttons, are not available while editing pages in Contribute.

Reason

This happens to pages based on Dreamweaver templates. Contribute is unable to write new styles to the head tag, which makes the style options unavailable.

Solution

Two solutions are available to resolve this problem:

Add an editable region in the head tag of the Dreamweaver Template. After adding the editable region within the head tag, update the pages that are associated to the page. For more information, refer to Editing and updating templates.
Modify the Style Support option in the admin role settings for the specific user from CSS style to HTML tags. For instructions, refer to Setting the Style and Fonts options in the Role Settings dialog box.
