Updated information for upgrading client applications in LiveCycle ES from 7.x for WebLogic
Issue
This article describes updated information about upgrading client applications from LiveCycle 7.x to LiveCycle ES. The Preparing to Upgrade to LiveCycle ES from 7.x and Upgrading to LiveCycle ES from 7.x for WebLogic guides refer to an incompatibility between LiveCycle Assembler 7.x client applications and WebLogic Application Server that requires manually replacing JAR files with updated ones.
Reason
The information as documented is incomplete because any client application using the
com.adobe.idp.Document object requires the updates described here. To continue to use client applications from LiveCycle 7.x, you must manually update them to use the LiveCycle ES APIs.
Additional Information
In addition, the last paragraph and accompanying table on page 71 of the œRepackaging client JAR files section of the Upgrading to LiveCycle ES from 7.x for WebLogic guide (for version 8.2.1.1) should be replaced with the following statement:
To upgrade your LiveCycle 7.x client applications, you must replace the following LiveCycle 7.x JAR files with the LiveCycle ES adobe-livecycle-client.jar file located in the [LiveCycleES root]/LiveCycle_ES_SDK/client-libs/common directory and the adobe-utilites.jar file located in the [LiveCycleES root]/LiveCycle_ES_SDK/client-libs/weblogic directory.
- adobe-common.jar
- AdobeCSAUtils.jar
- datamanager-client.jar
- DocumentServicesLibrary.jar
