Upgrade process for LiveCycle Business Activity Monitoring ES, version 8.2.1

Issue

When upgrading an existing LiveCycle Business Activity Monitoring ES (version 8.0.x) environment to LiveCycle ES, Update 1 (version 8.2.x), the Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) solution component is available to install in the installation wizard, but is disabled on the œSolution Component Selection screen in LiveCycle Configuration Manager.

Solution

This is the expected behavior for upgrading LiveCycle Business Activity Monitoring ES. When performing an upgrade, you must perform the tasks described below according to your LiveCycle ES environment.

JBoss turnkey

During installation, provide the serial number for the Business Activity Monitoring solution component.
During configuration, provide the details for the existing BAM metadata database in the œInitialize Business Activity Monitoring screen of LiveCycle Configuration Manager. Perform the applicable post-deployment tasks. (See the œPost-Deployment Activitiesœ section of the Upgrading to LiveCycle ES 8.2 from 8.0.x (for JBoss Turnkey) guide.)

Manual upgrade

Prepare your BAM server for upgrade. (See the œLiveCycle ES Business Activity Monitoring requirementsœ section of the Preparing to Upgrade to LiveCycle ES 8.2 from 8.0.x guide.)
During installation, provide the serial number for the Business Activity Monitoring solution component.
During configuration, provide the details for the existing BAM metadata database on the œInitialize Business Activity Monitoring screen in LiveCycle Configuration Manager.
