Installing in a non-default directory may result in lost data (Flex Builder 3.0.2 on Mac)
Issue
Adobe has discovered an issue with the Adobe Flex Builder 3.0.2 standalone installer for Mac OS X. This issue exists for all Flex Builder 3.0.2 installers that were downloaded between November 16, 2008 PST and November 21, 2008 PST. When running the standalone Flex Builder 3.0.2 installer on Mac OS X, if you select any folder other than the default folder as the installation location, then the contents of that selected folder may be deleted. Using the default installation location or installing into a newly created empty folder will not cause any problems.
Note: This issue only affects the Flex Builder 3.0.2 installer for Mac OS X standalone (for both the released version and the "Gumbo" preview DVD version that was made available to Adobe MAX attendees.) This issue does not exist in Flash Catalyst, and does not affect any of the following Flex Builder 3.0.2 releases:
- 3.0.2 Mac Plug-in
- 3.0.2 Win SA
- 3.0.2 Win Plug-in
- 3.0.2 Mac Update Installer
- 3.0.2 Win Update Installer
Solution
This issue was fixed on November 22, 2008.
