Title

Error when importing Word Documents with Tables in Headers (LiveCycle Designer 8.1.1)Products affected

Issue

When importing an existing form in .DOC format, Adobe LiveCycle produces the following error message, "The document contains missing fonts. Import after installing the missing fonts or with 'Ignore Missing Fonts' checkbox checked." If you select "Ignore missing Fonts", then the Header and Footnotes are missing.

Solution

Do one of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Upgrade to LiveCycle Designer 8.2.

With LiveCycle Designer 8.2 you will still receive the error but when you select "Ignore Missing Fonts" the header and footers will still be created.

Solution 2: Cut and Paste the Header and Footer after conversion.

You can copy and paste the Microsoft Word Header and Footer into the LiveCycle Designer file after conversion.

Solution 3: Convert the Word file using Adobe Acrobat and import the PDF into LiveCycle Designer.

If you require a solution using the 8.1.1 version:

  1. Open the document in Word.
  2. Use PDFMaker to create a PDF document.
  3. Open this PDF file in LiveCycle Designer 8.1.
  4. Select Create An Interactive Form With Flowed Layout.
