LiveCycle Policy Server policy and license migration fails after upgrade to Rights Management ES
Issue
Policies and licenses running on LiveCycle Policy Server 7.x with a JDK version later than 1.4.2_11 will fail during upgrade to Rights Management ES.
Reason
After directory synchronization, user canonical names will contain wrong values in the dc fields (indicated by the presence of an initial "#" character). The following example shows an incorrect canonical name created during directory synchronization:
"cn=corporateougroup3,ou=corporateou3,ou=corporatelabs,dc=#160c6f74747375706 c6162326b33,dc=#160363616e,dc=#160561646f6265,dc=#1603636f6d"
These incorrect canonical names will cause policy and license migration to fail during upgrade.
Solution
If your upgrade fails, do the following:
- Contact Adobe LiveCycle ES support to obtain the script
ouFixScript, then run the script on your LiveCycle Policy Server 7.x system. - Upgrade your LiveCycle Policy Server 7.x system to Rights Management ES. (See Preparing to Upgrade to LiveCycle ES from LiveCycle 7.x and the Upgrading to LiveCycle ES guide for your application server if you are upgrading to LiveCycle ES. See Preparing to Upgrade to LiveCycle ES from 7.x and the Upgrading to LiveCycle ES from 7.x guide for your application server if you are upgrading to LiveCycle ES Update 1.)
