Title

Date/Time fields are displayed using an input mask, date information is not displayed correctlyProducts affected

Issue

Date information is not displayed correctly in LiveCycle ES if Date/Time fields are displayed using a Text Input Mask.

Reason

The Text Input Mask option is not valid for date fields that use the long or full display patterns.

Solution

To work around this issue, do one of the following tasks:

  • In Guide Builder, select the Date/Time field in the form guide hierarchy and change the Display Field As field property to Date Field. This change allows the end user to select a date by using the calendar window for the corresponding field.
  • In LiveCycle Designer ES, select the Date/Time field and change the display pattern to the format that is supported by a Text Input Mask, such as short or medium.

In Guide Builder, if you select a date/time field that uses a long or full display pattern and you change the Display Field As option to Text Input Mask, the date field is not displayed correctly on the form guide at run time.

For example, a date field that uses the date pattern date.long{}, displays using the following incorrect text input mask:

A date field that uses the full date pattern, date.full{}, displays the following incorrect text input mask:

In addition, if the date field explicitly defines a display pattern that includes EEEE, for example if the date field is set to use the date{EEEE MMMM D, YYYY} pattern, the Display Field As option will not include the Text Input Mask entry.

Additional Information

For more information about Date/Time fields and using Guide Builder, see LiveCycle Designer ES Help.
