Flex Builder 3.x not supported with 64 bit Java 1.6 on Mac OS X

Flex Builder 3.x does not function with Java for Mac OS X 10.5 Update 1 with 64 bit Java SE 6 version 1.6.0_05.

Reason

---

Eclipse 3.3 is 32-bit due to the use of Carbon in the UI and the VM is 64 bit. Flex Builder is built on top of Eclipse and therefore inherits this issue.

Solution

---

To resolve this issue, switch to default VM to 32 bit Java 1.5.

Note: The following changes may also resolve this issue in the future:

• Apple may release a 32 bit version of Java 1.6. See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=216051 for more information.
