TechNote

Data entered in the fields located on a master page is lost when the form is saved.

Issue

After saving a form with a new name, any data entered in the fields that are located on the master page is lost.

Reason

By default, master page fields are temporary and have their binding set to none. They are reset when a new layout occurs. This means that when you add a new subform or save the form under a new name, any data entered in the master page fields is lost.

Solution

You can change the binding for master page fields to normal or global. The field values are retained when the form is saved.
