Keywords from Photoshop Lightroom 1.x not included on export from Photoshop Lightroom 2

Issue

When you update your catalog to Photoshop Lightroom 2, the Include On Export keyword tag option is not selected, so if you export your photos from Photoshop Lightroom 2, your keywords are not exported with your photos.

Solution

Do one of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Install and run the script that is attached to this document.
  1. Download AdjustKeywordOptions.lua to your Desktop.

Note: This script will also work with the Trial version of Photoshop Lightroom.
  2. Open Photoshop Lightroom 2. Make sure you open the released version, not the 2.0 Beta release version.
  3. Choose Edit > Preferences > Presets (Windows) or Lightroom > Preferences > Presets (Mac OS).
  4. Select Show Lightroom Presets Folder.
  5. Open the Lightroom folder. Create a new folder named Scripts inside the Lightroom folder, if a Scripts folder doesn't already exist.
  6. Drag or copy the AdjustKeywordOptions.lua file into the Scripts folder.
  7. Close the Windows Explorer or Finder window, to return to Photoshop Lightroom 2.
  8. Exit from Photoshop Lightroom 2, then reopen Photoshop Lightroom 2.
  9. Choose the new Scripts menu, which is to the right of the Help menu and has a script icon, and choose AdjustKeywordOptions.
  10. In the Update Keyword Export Options dialog box, choose one of the two options, depending on whether or not you have your Photoshop Lightroom 1.x catalog, or which catalog settings you want to use (if you do have your Photoshop Lightroom 1.x catalog).
    • If you choose to use the settings from the 1.x catalog (the first option), the settings from that catalog's Edit Keyword Tag options will be used in your Photoshop Lightroom 2 catalog.
    • If you choose to use the second option, or you don't have your 1.x catalog, all of the options under Edit Keyword Tag will be turned on in your Photshop Lightroom 2 catalog.
  11. If you wish to continue, then check box that indicates you are aware that this operation is undoable and will alter the currently open catalog, and select Update Keywords.
Solution 2: Manually turn the export keyword option on for each keyword.

For each keyword in the keywords list, double-click the keyword, then check all three options under Keyword Tag Options.
