Automatic validation not performed on all clicked form fields

Issue

In Acrobat 8.x and 9.0, validation is not automatically performed when the user clicks the following type of form fields:

text
date/time
numeric
decimal
password
list box
drop-down list
signature
image
button

The automatic validation is performed when user clicks the radio button list, radio button and check box fields.

This behavior differs in Acrobat 7.x, where clicking any form field triggered an automatic validation.

Reason

In Acrobat 8.x and 9.0, validation is performed only if the value of the field has changed. This is a preferred behavior because it streamlines the form and improves its performance.

Solution

If you need to perform field validation, even if its values have not changed, then perform it in the exit event, which occurs when the field loses focus.
