The selection mark that appears in a check box differs in interactive forms that are viewed in Acrobat 7.x and 8.1 (or later)

Issue

For interactive forms, in Acrobat 7.x, a selected check box (square style) shows a checkmark. In Acrobat 8.1.0 and 9.0, a selected check box (square style) shows an X.

If the check box style is a circle, then selected state is shown in all Acrobat versions as a shaded circle.
