Watermarks still appear on charts after applying Professional serial number (Flex)Products affected

Issue

When you apply a new Adobe Flex Professional serial number to either a Trial or Standard Edition of Adobe Flex Builder, any watermarks that appear on your charting components should disappear. In some cases however, these watermarks remain.

Solution

Before completing these steps, you should ensure that your Flex Professional serial number has been properly applied. To do this, go to the About menu in Flex Builder, and then choose Manage Flex Licenses. This will tell you which edition of Flex you currently have registered on your machine. If this does not show Flex Builder Professional, please see "Cannot enter serial number(s) in the Manage Flex Builder Licenses window (Flex Builder 3)" (TechNote kb403934).

If you are attempting to compile a project that uses the Flex 2 SDK or the Flex 2 Charting Components from within Flex Builder 3, see "Watermarks appear when using Flex 2 Charting library with Flex Builder 3" (TechNote kb403860).

Once you are certain that your Professional license is in place, open your project in Flex Builder and complete the following steps:

  1. On the Project menu, choose Build Automatically to turn off this option. If the option is already turned off (deselected), do not complete this step.
  2. Choose Project > Clean.
  3. Choose Project > Build.
  4. (Optional) Choose Project > Build Automatically to turn on this option again, if desired.

When you run your project, you should no longer see any watermarks.
