Known Issues and Work Arounds
1677726: Administrative installation with GPO is not supported for combined Reader and AIR installer
Currently, only Reader supports administrative installation with GPO.
1625896: Saving an Excel 2007 workbook as a PDF creates a layout that differs from the layout in the Excel 2007 workbook
This is a known issue with Microsoft Excel 2007 as noted in Microsoft KB 941506. To resolve this problem, configure the dpi settings in Excel 2007 to match the dpi settings of the PDF file. For more information see kb403530.
1583743: Printing attachments from an "unopened" email in Outlook 2003 and 2007 fails
If you try and print attachments in Outlook 2003 or 2007 without opening the email, you will get an error. To work around the issue, open up the email first, then print attachments. For more information see kb403531.
1511555: Some type 1 fonts do not print properly on SHARP AR-M455N printers with PCL 6
If type 1 fonts are not printingcorrectly on a SHARP AR-M455N printer with PCL 6, updating the driver will correct the problem. Just visit the SHARP website for the updated driver. For more information see kb403722.
1668237: Printing failures reported on HP Postscript clones using Microsoft PostScript driver
If printing fails using an HP clone printer with a Microsoft PostScript driver, updating the driver with an HP PostScript driver corrects the problem. For more information see kb403734.
1683042: Exporting some PostScript files may become very large
It is possible that exporting some PostScript files will becomevery large. The workaround is to change Acrobat 9.0 color management settings to match Acrobat 8.0. Go into the File | Save As | PostScript | Settings. Go into the Color management pane and select the Color Handling option from Acrobat Color Management to Printer Color Management. This reverts to Acrobat 8.x settings and will cause comparable PostScript file sizes.
1833314: Word/Excel Crash by clicking "Embed Video" by end-user other than person who installed Acrobat in Windows
If an end-user, who was not responsible for installing Acrobat, tries to embed a video from Microsoft Word or Excel, they will experience a crash of the Word/Excel application. There is a work around for this by adding the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\InstallPath set (Default) to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat, where "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0" is the application install folder.
1823702: Excel 2007 Crashes when creating PDF with all cells selected
If an end-user selects all cells within an Excel spreadsheet, then uses the ribbon option to create a PDF with the "Selection" option, Excel will crash. There is a work around by using the print method instead.
1695917: PDF Creation Add-in is disabled in Microsoft application
Microsoft applications will disable add-ins as a fail safe if the application is prematurely closed (for example, system shut down improperly, power failure during PDF creation, etc. If this happens see kb403561 for solutions to solve this.
1678119: Table of Content hyperlinks are not created in PDF if "Use hyperlinks instead of page numbers" is unchecked in Word
If the "Use hyperlinks instead of page numbers" option is OFF for the table of contents when converting a Word document to PDF, then no hyperlinks are created in the PDF. To work around this issue, enable the "Use hyperlinks instead of page numbers' option".
1663317: Two page display becomes one page display when converting Word 2007 to PDF
If a PDF is created from a Word 2007 document in book layout view, the PDF is created as a single page instead of a two page display. To work around this issue:
- Click 'Create PDF' icon in the Acrobat ribbon.
- With all default settings save the PDF.
- Open the PDF in Acrobat or Reader.
- Goto File-->Print.
- Inside 'Page Handling' section select 'Booklet Printing' from 'Page Scaling' drop down.
- Click OK.
