Title

Patch for HTML grid and cfmenu (ColdFusion 8.0.1)Products affected

Issue

This patch addresses the following issues:

  • HTML grids may display improperly in ColdFusion 8.0.1 with drop-downs not displaying all items (ID 71630).
  • The sub-menu indicator arrow appears beneath the display text in a vertical menu with Internet Explorer (ID 71634).

Fixes that require more than just the installation of a hot fix jar file using the ColdFusion administrator's update dialog are distributed through separate TechNotes. These types of updates are not included in cumulative update jars (i.e., chf801-0001.jar).

Solution

Use the ColdFusion 8 Administrator to install hot fix jars. The installation process is the same for all platforms and installation choices.

  1. Download hf801-71634.zip (26K) and extract the hf801-71634.jar file and trigger.gif.
  2. Copy trigger.gif to web_root\CFIDE\scripts\ajax\resources\ext\images\default\form\, replacing the existing file. If you have defined an alternate ScriptSrc directory in the ColdFusion administrator it should be copied under that directory.
  3. Copy yui.css to webroot\CFIDE\scripts\ajax\resources\yui\, replacing the existing file. Again, if you have defined an alternate ScriptSrc directory this file should be copied under that directory.
  4. Open the ColdFusion 8 Administrator and select the System Information page.
  5. Click Browse next to the Update File box, and then browse to the extracted jar file. Select the file and click Submit.
  6. Restart ColdFusion.

You do not need to keep the hot fix JAR file after installing it with the ColdFusion Administrator. The file has been copied to the correct location.

The hf801-71634.jar hot fix JAR file will appear as a new entry in the System Information list.

Hot fixes are uninstalled by stopping the ColdFusion 8 Application Server service and deleting the respective jar file from cf_root/lib/updates.
