Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6 add-in closes unexpectedly while screen sharing (Mac OS X 10.5.x Leopard)Products affected
Issue
When you share your screen for a period of time on Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, the Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6add-in closes unexpectedly. This problem only exists with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard users when screen sharing with Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6.
Reason
Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 7 has compatibility issues with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard.Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6 supports OS X 10.4 Tiger and doesn't contain this problem.
Solution
Uninstall the Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6 add-in and install the latest version from the Adobe downloader.
When you download the Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6 add-in after you uninstall, you will automatically get the latest version.
To uninstall the add-in:
- Delete the connectaddin6x5 folder in the following location:
Macintosh HD/Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Preferences/Macromedia/Flash
Player/www.macromedia.com/bin/connectaddin6x5
Note: Replace [YourUserName] with your user name for this computer
To install the latest version of the add-in:
- To install, login to an Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional 6 room as a Host or Presenter.
- Once you enter the room, mouse over the blue down arrow in the top right hand corner, a yellow box will open.
- Within the yellow box that opens, click on the Install link to install the new Adobe Acrobat Connect Add-in.
- A window will pop up with the message "To use the application, you need the Adobe Acrobat Connect Add-in. Would you like to install it now? Click Yes.
- Another window will open; "connectaddin" is an application which was downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it? Click Open.
The Adobe Acrobat Connect Add-in will download and install. Once it completes the installation, it will close the room and re-open within the Adobe Acrobat Connect Add-in.
Additional Information
New users will not encounter this problem because they will get the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Connect Add-in at the time of installation.
