Title

Changing color depth in a movie changes the system color depthProducts affected

Issue

After you watch a Shockwave movie, the system bit depth has changed or your applications display in black and white.

Reason

Some applications do not support some of the bit depth changes that are possible via Shockwave. For example, Microsoft Office applications do not support a bith depth of 2 DPI. When this bit depth change occurs with an application that does not support the changed value, the application will not return to the default system bit depth.

Solution

Reboot your system.

When you reboot your system, applications that were effected will return to the default system bit depth.

Additional Information

Adobe is aware of this issue. If you would like to see the way this behavior functions via Shockwave Player in future versions, please submit a feature request.
