Director MX 2004 was developed before the release of Microsoft Windows Vista and Apple's Leopard operating systems.
Support for Director MX 2004 and Shockwave Player 10 on Windows Vista
Director MX 2004 and Shockwave Player 10 do not officially support Microsoft Windows Vista. Adobe Technical Support will provide troubleshooting suggestions unless it is determined to be a problem with the operating system. Upgrading to Director 11 and Shockwave Player 11 provide support for Microsoft Windows Vista. Director 11 and Shockwave Player 11 were released on March 25th, 2008 and support Microsoft Windows Vista.
