H.264 video does not play until the entire file is downloaded

Issue


H.264 video does not play until the entire file is downloaded.

Reason


This is most likely because the video file is encoded with a moov atom at the end of the file. Adobe Flash Player cannot start playback of the video until this atom is encountered.

Solution


To have the video playback while still loading, reencode the video file to have the moov atom at the beginning.
