ColdFusion MX 7.02 - CFDocument Cumulative Hot Fix
Issue
Adobe has released a cumulative update to resolve a number of issues with CFDocument. These issues include:
| Bug | Issue |
| 60212 and 62335 | Text cutoff issues |
| 64887 | DocumentItem type=header causing text overwrite with multi-page documents |
| 65719 | Missing or zoomed images |
| 64251 | Document fonts and spacing appears inappropriate on UNIX and Linux systems. Also, href URLs include extra spaces on UNIX and Linux systems, breaking the links. |
Note: This hot fix supersedes hf702-62335. However it will work with hf702-62335 installed. Latest update is dated 02/26/2008. The latest patch resolves a sizing and formatting problems found in earlier patch.
Solution
Both ColdFusion MX 7 cumulative and individual hot fixes are installed in the ColdFusion MX Administrator. The installation process is the same for all platforms and installation choices.
However, this update has additional files that must be replaced in cfmx_root/lib. Default server installations place the lib directory as follows:
- Windows - C:\CFusionMX7\lib
- Linux/UNIX - /opt/coldfusionmx7
J2EE, JRun or multiserver installations place the lib directory similar to:
- Windows - C:\JRun4\servers\cfusion\cfusion-ear\cfusion-war\WEB-INF\cfusion\lib
- Linux/UNIX - /opt/jrun4/servers/cfusion/cfusion-ear/cfusion-war/WEB-INF/cfusion/lib
Install the ColdFusion MX 7.0.2 hot fix.
- Download and unzip the hot fix. (9K)
- Open the ColdFusion MX Administrator and select the System Information page. Next to the Update File field, either:
- Type in the file path to hf702-65719.jar and click Submit.
OR
- Select the Browse Button and browse to hf702-65719.jar. Select the file and click apply.
- Type in the file path to hf702-65719.jar and click Submit.
- Stop ColdFusion MX.
- Move the following JAR files from cfmx7_root/lib to a backup directory:
- ib6core.jar
- ib61patch.jar
- ib6swing.jar
- ib6utils.jar
- ri_generic.jar
- Copy the replacement JAR files from the downloaded zip file to cfmx7_root/lib:
- ib6core.jar
- ib6swing.jar
- ib6utils.jar
- ri_generic.jar
- Note: There is no replacement for ib61patch.jar.
- Restart ColdFusion MX 7.02.
The ColdFusion MX 7 hot fix JAR file does not need to be retained after installing it with the ColdFusion Administrator. The file has been copied into the correct location.
The ColdFusion MX 7 hot fix JAR file (hf702-65719.jar) will appear as a new entry in the System Information list.
