Photoshop CS3 images are not centered on Epson printers

Issue


When you print to an Epson printer from Adobe Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended, the image is not centered on the page.

Reason


Photoshop CS3 does not expand automatically to maximize the printable area of a document.

Solution


Do one or more of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Install the Photoshop 10.0.1 update.

Download and install the update from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/downloads.

Solution 2: Set the Centering Option as the default in the Epson Printer Driver.

  1. From the Start Menu, choose Settings > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes, and select your printer.
  2. Right-click and select Printing Preferences.
  3. In the Epson Printing Preferences dialog box, do one or more of the following:

    1. Select the Page Layout tab, and then select either Center or Minimize Margins.
    2. Select the Paper Options tab and select Borderless.

    Note: When you perform the steps above, the options you select will be set as system defaults. To make the changes on a per-document basis, follow use solutions below.

Solution 3: Set the centering option in the Epson Printer Properties dialog box.

  1. In Photoshop, choose File > Page Setup.
  2. In the Epson Printer Properties dialog box, select the Page Layout tab, and then select either Center or Minimize Margins.

Solution 4: Turn on Borderless in Epson Printer Properties.

  1. In Photoshop, choose File > Page Setup.
  2. In the Epson Printer Properties dialog box, select the Paper Options tab and select Borderless.
