Generic Windows crash error message when you export Microsoft HTML Help from Adobe RoboHelp 6
Issue
When attempting to export Microsoft HTML Help from Adobe RoboHelp 6, you get one of the following error messages:
"RoboHelp HTML Application has encountered a problem and needs to close."
or"An unhandled win32 exception occurred in RoboHTML.exe [3768]."
Reason
This can occur if you have conditional build tags and tables that contain spans in the same project.
Solution
Update RoboHelp HTML to resolve this issue.
Backup the BuildTagExpr.dll file:
- Browse to the [Path to the RoboHelp 6 application]\RoboHelp 6.0\RoboHTML folder. The default location for RoboHelp 6 is C:\Program Files\Adobe\RoboHelp 6.0\RoboHTML.
- Rename BuildTagExpr.dll to BuildTagExpr.old.
Install the update:
- Download kb401651.zip.
- Unzip kb401651.zip.
- Move BuildTagExpr.dll from the location you extracted it to, to the [Path to the RoboHelp 6 application]\RoboHelp 6.0\RoboHTML folder.
You should now be able to generate Microsoft HTML Help without generating the above error.
