Error "Problem with importing files" when you import a photo into Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 on Windows Vista
Issue
When you try to import a photo into Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0, your photo is not imported and Photoshop Lightroom returns the error message:
"Problem with Importing Files - the file was not imported. Could not copy a file to the requested location."
Reason
If the By Date path you select for your folder in the Import Photos dialog box contains a forward slash, then your photos are not imported.
Solution
Do one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Install the Photoshop Lightroom 1.1 update.
Download and install the update from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/downloads.
Solution 2: Choose another method of organizing your photos when you import them:
- Choose Into One Folder from the Organize pop-up menu to import all the selected photos into the folder listed in the Copy To field, or into a subfolder of the Copy To folder, which you can create and name.
- Or, Choose By Original Folders from the Organize pop-up menu, which uses the naming convention of your original folder for the Copy To folder.
