Context-sensitive Help and Search don''t function in Adobe Help Viewer 1.1 (Danish version of Windows)Products affected

Issue

When you launch Help from any Adobe Creative Suite 3 application, you receive the error mesage, "This topic is in the Help system of another product. To view the topic, install that product. " and no search results are returned in the Adobe Help Viewer on Danish Windows.

Details

You installed Adobe Creative Suite 3 or one of the CS3 applications on a Danish Windows operating system.

Reason

The issue is caused by the extended characters (Danish ae- ligature) in directory names (/Program files/Common files) not being handled correctly. The directory names are the following:

  • English: C:\Program Files\Common Files
  • Danish: C:\Programmer\Flles filer

Solution

Do one of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Install the Help Viewer 1.1 Update for Windows.

Download the update from the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=3621.

Solution 2: Locate the Help.pdf on your CS3 application DVD to view and search for content.

The Adobe [Application Name] CS3 Help.pdf file is located in the Documentation folder on the application DVD, or on the Content DVD if you purchased an Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design or Web Suite.
