Adobe Flash Player Express Install issue on Microsoft Windows Vista
Issue
Express Install is not available for Internet Explorer users on Windows Vista with Flash Player versions earlier than 9.0.28.0 installed. This situation may occur when a user upgrades the operating system to Windows Vista with an older version of Flash Player already installed.
Users on Windows Vista running a version of Flash Player earlier than 9.0.28.0 will be shown a message directing them to the Flash Player download center to upgrade their Flash Player.
Reason
Flash Player 9.0.28.0 is the first release to support Windows Vista and the new Vista security model. Earlier versions of Flash Player are unable to install Flash Player through Express Install under the new Windows Vista security model. Flash Player 9.0.28.0 and later support the Express Install feature on Windows Vista.
Solution
The Express Install messaging has been updated to inform users who are affected to update their player through the Flash Player download center.
Developers can also detect the operating system and Flash Player version in Internet Explorer and then install Flash Player through the default ActiveX install process within the browser.
