EXIF metadata is deleted when you send a JPEG file to Editor (Photoshop Elements 5.0)

Issue

When you select a JPEG file in the Organizer of Photoshop Elements 5.0 and choose the Send To Editor command, the EXIF metadata in the file is deleted.

Solution

Install the Photoshop Elements 5.0.2 update.

Download the update from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/support/downloads.

Additional Information

This issue does not occur for all JPEG files; it occurs only with files from digital cameras that have Print Image Matching information and a large thumbnail embedded in the EXIF metadata. The Photoshop Elements 5.0.2 update prevents the EXIF metadata from being deleted when the Send To Editor command is invoked; however, itdoes not correct files from which the EXIF metadata was already deleted.
