Custom PDF settings saved from Acrobat 8 Distiller are not available in Creative Suite 2.0 applications
Issue
Custom PDF settings saved out of Acrobat 8 Distiller are not available in Adobe Creative Suite 2.0 applications.
Details
Custom PDF settings by default are saved from Acrobat 8 Distiller to a different location than where Adobe Creative Suite 2 applications look for PDF settings.
Solutions:
Do one or more of the following:
Note: If users are unable to write to any of the below folders, then they will need to be given write access to the folder by their system administrator.
Solution 1: Move the custom-made PDF settings files to the Adobe Creative Suite 2 PDF settings default storage location.
Move the custom PDF settings files from location A to location B.
On Windows:
A. Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
B. Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
On Mac OS:
A. Users/<user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings/
B. Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings/
Note: Everytime that a user makes a custom settings file, the user must move the file from location A to location B to allow Adobe Creative Suite 2.0
applications to access it.
Solution 2: Change the Save location of the PDF settings files to the Adobe Creative Suite 2 default storage location.
To change the Save location of the PDF settings files to the Adobe Creative Suite 2 default storage location do one of the following:
-- On Windows: When you create new job options, change the Save path to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe PDF \Settings.
-- On Mac OS: When you create new job options change the Save path to Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF/Settings.
Note: The save location will not stick to the Adobe Creative Suite 2 default storage location. You need to be change the location every time you save s a PDF settting.
