Help Center does not install with Photoshop Elements (4.0 on Windows)

Issue

The Help Center doesn't install with Photoshop Elements, but you do not receive an error message.

Solution: Remove Photoshop Elements, disable startup applications and anti-virus software, and then install Photoshop Elements from the desktop.

To remove Photoshop Elements 4.0:

1. Select Start > Settings > Control Panel.

2. Select Add/Remove Programs, and choose Photoshop Elements 4.0.

3. Click Change/Remove to remove the program.

To disable Windows startup applications and anti-virus software:

1. Exit all applications.

2. Choose Start > Run, and type msconfig in the Open text box. Click OK.

3. Click the Startup tab, and select Disable All.

4. Click OK, and restart Windows.

5. Right-click to close or disable any items in the Notification Area (called the System Tray in earlier versions of Windows).

6. Disable any virus protection software running. For instructions, see the virus protection software documentation.

To install Photoshop Elements from the desktop:

1. Insert the Photoshop Elements application CD.

2. Copy the Photoshop Elements folder from the Photoshop Elements application CD to the desktop.

3. Double-click the Install Adobe Photoshop Elements file in the Photoshop Elements folder on the desktop, and follow the on-screen instructions .

4. Delete the Photoshop Elements folder on the desktop.
