Error "Codec Initialization Error" when attempting to export as Flash Video (FLV) (Premiere Pro 2.0)
Issue
When you try to export a Timeline as Flash Video, the export fails and Adobe Premiere Pro displays the error message "Codec Initialization Error".
Details
You are exporting to a hard disk with low disk space.
Solutions
Do one or more of the following solutions:
Solution 1: Export to another hard disk.
Export your file to another hard disk with enough free space, or create additional disk space on the existing hard disk by deleting unneeded files.
Solution 2: Convert your hard disk to NTFS.
If you use a FAT32 disk, then you should convert the disk to NTFS or export to another hard disk.
Background information
When the Adobe Media Encoder encounters a low disk space issue when exporting, it displays the misleading error message, "Codec Initialization Error". The Adobe Media Encoder does not display a low disk space warning. To create the Flash Video file, the Adobe Media Encoder first creates an uncompressed QuickTime file as a temporary intermediate format. The FAT32 file system only supports files smaller than 4GB, so you may see this error when you export your Premiere Timeline to a FAT32 disk drive.
