Error "Registration information is invalid" when you start Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0

Issue

When you start Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 for the first time, Premiere Elements returns the error message, "Registration information is invalid. Please reinstall Adobe Premiere Elements."

Details

You installed Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 using the Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 serial number.

Or

The User Information fields for user name or company name contain more that 40 single-byte characters (English) or more than 20 double-byte characters (Japanese).

Solutions

Do one of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Remove and reinstall Premiere Elements using the proper serial number.

Solution 2: Re-install Premiere Elements, limiting the number of characters in the User Information fields.

When you enter data into the User Information fields during installation, limit the number of characters (including spaces) to 40 single-byte characters or 20 double-byte characters each in the User Name and Company Name fields.
