Capturing CD audio for import into Premiere Elements
The tracks of standard audio CDs are written in the Compact Disc Audio format (CDA). Each track of an audio CD is a separate CDA file. Because Adobe Premiere Elements does not support the CDA format, you must convert CDA files to a supported audio format (preferably WAV files) before using them in a Premiere Elements project.
Converting CD Audio for use in Premiere Elements
To import a CDA file (for example, an audio CD track) into Premiere Elements, you need to convert the CDA file to a format that Premiere Elements supports. After you convert the CDA file to a supported format, you can import it to Premiere Elements with the Import command.
Windows XP includes Windows Media Player, which can be used to extract audio from CDs. You can also convert CDA files using other third-party applications. The following applications convert CDA files to formats supported by Premiere Elements:
