Keyboard shortcut for selecting highlights doesn't work (Photoshop CS, CS2 on Mac OS X v10.4)
Issue
Nothing happens when you press Command+Option+` to select highlights in an image in Adobe Photoshop on Mac OS X v10.4.
Solution: Changeor disable the conflicting Mac OS keyboard shortcut.
Change or disable the keyboard shortcut in the system preferences to allow Photoshop to use this shortcut for the Select Highlights operation.
1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
2. Click Keyboard & Mouse.
3. Click the Keyboard Shortcuts tab.
4. Do one of the following:
-- To change the shortcut, click the shortcut text to the right of Move Focus To Window Drawer, and then press the keys to create a new keyboard shortcut for this operation.
-- To disable the shortcut, deselect Move Focus To Window Drawer.
5. Quit System Preferences.
Background information
Mac OS X v10.4 reserves the Command+Option+` keyboard shortcut for the Move Focus To Window Drawer operation which prevents Photoshop from using the shortcut.
