Help window doesn't appear when you start Adobe Help Center (Windows XP, 2000)

Issue

When you start Adobe Help Center, the application appears in the taskbar but the Help window doesn't appear on the screen.

The same problem occurs with other applications (for example, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel).

Solutions

Do one or more of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Maximize the Help Center window.

Right-click Adobe Help Center in the taskbar and choose Maximize from the menu.

Solution 2: Delete the AHC_Prefs.xml file.

1. Close Adobe Help Center.

2. Navigate to \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Help Center\AdobeHelpData\.

3. Delete the AHC_Prefs.xml file.
