Details

This issue occurs with any image type.
You are using Adobe InDesign CS2 4.0.3
Solution: Install the InDesign CS2 4.0.4 update.
The update and installation instructions are available on the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/downloads .
Background information
In InDesign CS2 4.0 - 4.0.2 and in InDesign CS with the latest update, InDesign maintains image dimensions when images are updated or relinked. For example, when you place a 4-inch-by-6-inch image in InDesign, resize the image in Photoshop to 2 inches by 3 inches, and then update the link, InDesign scales the updated image to 4 inches by 6 inches.
In InDesign CS2 4.0.3 and in InDesign CS without the latest update, the image size in InDesign changes to 2 inches by 3 inches (the size of the image in Photoshop) after you update the link.
This change was made in InDesign CS2 4.0.3 to address the issue described in document 332757 , "Image displays incorrectly after you scale it in Photoshop (InDesign CS2 )." Adobe is investigating other solutions for this issue. Further updates will be noted in this document.
