Invalid serial number error occurs when you install individual applications (Adobe Creative Suite 1.0-2.0)
Issue
When you try to install one of the individual applications included with the Adobe Creative Suite using its installer (rather than the Adobe Creative Suite installer), the installer returns one of the following errors:
-- "This is not a valid serial number. Please go back and re-enter your serial number."
-- Adobe Photoshop: "[number] is not a valid Adobe Photoshop CS and ImageReady CS serial number. Please enter the 24-digit install code from your CD case or registration card."
-- Adobe InDesign, Adobe GoLive, or Adobe Illustrator: "[number] is not a valid Adobe [product] CS serial number. Please re-enter your serial number."
-- Adobe Acrobat: "Invalid serial number. This is not a valid serial number. Please go back and re-enter your serial number."
Solution: Install the application using the Adobe Creative Suite Installer.
