Ctrl-click or Command-clicking layer doesn't load layer boundaries as selection (Photoshop CS2)

Issue

When you Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) the name of a layer in the Layers palette in Adobe Photoshop, the layer boundaries don't load as a selection.

Solution: Click on the layer thumbnail.

Ctrl-click (Windows) or Command-click (Mac OS) the thumbnail icon for the layer in the Layers palette.

For additional information about loading layer boundaries as a selection, see the To load a layer or layer mask's boundaries as a selection section of Photoshop CS2 Help.

Background information

In Photoshop CS2, Ctrl-clicking (Windows) or Command-clicking (Mac OS) layer names selects multiple layers in the Layers palette. Previous versions of Photoshop did not have the ability to select multiple layers.
