Removing and Reinstalling Acrobat PDFMaker (6.0 for Office 2000 or XP)
This document provides instructions for removing and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker files for Microsoft Office XP or 2000.
Removing Acrobat PDFMaker
If you experience problems with Acrobat PDFMaker, be sure to remove it before you reinstall it.
To remove Acrobat PDFMaker from Office XP, delete the following items:
-- The PDF Maker folder in Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0
-- The PDFMaker.dot file in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\Startup
-- The PDFMaker.xla file in Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
--The PDFMaker.xla file in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\XLStart
To remove Adobe PDFMaker from Microsoft Office 2000, delete the following items:
-- The Office folder in Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat [version]\PDFMaker
-- The PDFMaker.dot file in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup
-- The PDFMaker.xla file in Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\XLStart
-- The PDFMaker.xla file in Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART
Reinstalling PDFMaker
To reinstall Acrobat PDFMaker, you can either use the Detect and Repair feature in Acrobat (Professional or Standard), or you can manually reinstall the files. The Detect and Repair feature automatically identifies and reinstalls the Acrobat PDFMaker files.
To reinstall Acrobat PDFMaker by using the Detect and Repair feature:
1. Close all applications, including those that run in the background.
2. Start Acrobat.
3. Choose Help > Detect and Repair, and follow the on-screen instructions.
4. After the installation is complete, restart your computer.
To reinstall Acrobat PDFMaker manually:
1. Close all applications, including those that run in the background.
2. Double-click the Acrobat Setup.exe file to start the Acrobat installer.
3. In the Setup dialog box, click Next.
4. In the Program Maintenance dialog box, select Modify, and then click Next.
5. In the Custom Setup dialog box, click the plus sign (+) to expand the Create Adobe PDF options, and then click the plus sign to expand the Acrobat PDFMaker option.
6. Click the arrow next to the Microsoft Office option, and then select This Feature will be Installed on Local Hard Drive.
7. Click Next, and then click Update.
