Error: "...problem with the database and '[file name]' was not updated..." and folders display as white boxes (Bridge 1.0 for Mac OS)

Issue

When you open a folder in Adobe Bridge for the first time, you see the error "There was a problem with the database and "[file name]" was not updated correctly. This may effect searches..." Images in the folder, including the one referenced in the error message, display correctly, but you are unable to browse into other folders, which appear as white boxes in Adobe Bridge.

Solutions

Do one of the following:

Solution 1: Install Adobe Brige 1.0.1.

You can download and install Adobe Bridge 1.0.1 by going to the Bridge Help menu, selecting Updates and following the on-screen instructions. The Adobe Bridge 1.0.1 update is also available from the Adobe website at www.adobe.com/support/downloads .

Solution 2: Edit the user account to allow the user to administer the computer.

To edit the user account to allow the user to administer the computer:

1. Login using an administrator account. If you do not have access to an administraot account, contact your IT administrator.

2. Edit user account to enable administering the computer.

a. Go to System Preferences > Accounts.

b. Select the user's account.

c. Under Security select Allow User To Administer This Computer.

3. Login using the modified user's account.
