Adobe FrameMaker 7.0 can import native FrameMaker (*.fm) files that were created in FrameMaker 3.0 or later on Mac OS, Windows, or UNIX. You can transfer FrameMaker files between platforms as long as you use the same major version of FrameMaker on both platforms.

FrameMaker 7.0 can also open MIF (Maker Interchange Format) files from any previous version of FrameMaker. You can use previous versions of FrameMaker to open FrameMaker 7.0 MIF files, although formatting features specific to FrameMaker 7.0 won't appear in previous versions.

You can also save files created in FrameMaker 7.0 in the FrameMaker 6.0 format.
