Mac OS X Compatibility with FrameMaker, FrameMaker+SGML, and FrameViewer
Adobe FrameMaker products don't offer native support for Mac OS X, but you can run them in Mac OS X Classic mode. If you run them in Mac OS X Classic mode, you may encounter the following issues.
FrameMaker 7.0
-- Damaged aliases cause FrameMaker to freeze: If you create an alias to a file or folder in Mac OS 9.x, and then upgrade to Mac OS X, FrameMaker may freeze if you select the alias in the Open dialog box. To avoid this problem, re-create aliases in Mac OS X.
-- When you choose File > Save As to create a PDF file, the PDF option isn't available (it's grayed out) in the Save as Type pop-up menu in the Save As dialog box. You can type a filename with a .pdf extension, but you receive an error that FMPDFWRITER must be on the desktop. To create a PDF file, either print to PostScript and distill the PostScript file manually, or print to the Create Adobe PDF or FramePDFWriter printer.
-- Files with imported SVG graphics may take longer to process.
FrameMaker, FrameMaker+SGML and FrameViewer 6.0
-- The product may crash when opening a Microsoft Word 97 file. (This problem doesn't occur in Mac OS 9.2.2. For information about updating Classic mode to Mac OS 9.2.2, see Apple's Web site at www.apple.com .)
-- An error may occur when the product opens a Corel WordPerfect file.
-- The product may crash when saving a document as HTML, if the document contains graphics.
-- The Online Help may not work--the Help application may not start.
