Text appears incorrectly or disappears when you edit or drag a text layer (Photoshop CS)

Issue

When you edit or drag a text layer in Adobe Photoshop, one or more of the following issues occurs:

-- The last character you typed doesn't appear on-screen.

-- Characters duplicate when you press Backspace or delete characters.

-- Text appears to break, leaving partial characters on-screen.

-- Characters disappear and reappear when you magnify or reduce the view.

Solutions

Do one of the following solutions:

Solution 1: Close the Info palette or position it behind another palette.

Close the Info palette or position another palette in front of it so that the Info palette is inactive, and then edit the text or drag the layer.

Solution 2: Increase the view to 100%.

Set the view to 100% (or larger), and then edit or drag the text layer. To increase the view to 100%, double-click the Zoom tool.

Background information

A screen redraw issue in Photoshop CS causes text to display incorrectly when the Info palette is active and the screen view is less than 100%.
