Thumbnail previews of Camera Raw images do not display as expected in Adobe Bridge.
Issue
Thumbnail previews of Camera Raw images in Adobe Bridge are darker or lighter than expected.
Reason
The Camera Raw defaults have been set to automatically adjust tone settings.
Solution
Change the default Camera Raw settings so that auto adjustments are not applied to the image previews.
- In Bridge 1.x, deselect "Use Auto Adjustments" and save the settings as a new Camera Raw default. Note: You will need to create new Camera Raw defaults for each camera model from which you import images. Camera Raw defaults are applied only to images that do not have Camera Raw adjustments made to them before you open the files in Adobe Bridge.
- Ctrl-click (Macintosh) or right-click (Windows) an image in Bridge and choose Open in Camera Raw.
- Deselect "Use Auto Adjustments" in the Settings pop-up menu.
- Choose "Save New Camera Raw Defaults" from the Settings pop-up menu.
- Click Done to close Adobe Camera Raw.
- In Bridge CS3, deselect the option "Apply auto tone adjustments" in Camera Raw preferences.
- Go to Bridge CS3 > Camera Raw Preferences (Macintosh) or Edit > Camera Raw Preference (Windows).
- Deselect the option "Apply auto tone adjustments".
- Click OK.
